Composer & Pianist
Dalar Jijyan was born in 2010 in Lebanon and relocated with her family to Yerevan in 2015. In 2025, she completed her piano studies with distinction at the Avet Terteryan Art School of Yerevan under the tutelage of Hermine Grigoryan. She is currently enrolled in the Composition Department (second year) at the same institution, studying with composer Arpine Kalinina.
Dalar’s compositions have been performed in various concert venues throughout Yerevan. In 2025, she took part in the Aram Khachaturian Young Composers’ Review Festival, where she presented her piano diptych May (2025), consisting of two movements: May Waltz and May Thunderstorms.
In recognition of her musical abilities and highly developed musical ear, she was awarded the Silver Medal at the national “Paytporik” Solfège Olympiad in 2025.
In late 2025, Dalar participated in a concert tour in Germany with fellow students from her composition class, performing in Cologne, Bremen, and Stuttgart, including a concert presented within the Armenian Culture Days programme in Stuttgart. The tour also offered valuable artistic exposure through visits to key cultural institutions, including the Beethoven Museum in Bonn and the Stuttgart City Library.
In winter 2025, for her artistic achievements and active contribution to cultural life, Dalar was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the Davtashen Administrative District of Yerevan, recognising her role in the development and promotion of music and the arts within the local community.
Alongside her academic studies at the Aregnazan Waldorf School in Yerevan, which follows a German-based educational approach integrating academics with arts and culture, Dalar continues her studies in solfège and harmony with Haykanush Harutyunyan. These studies support her current compositional work and contribute to her systematic preparation for future conservatory entrance.
